Ken Lauber

Ken Lauber, (The Dramatists Guild of America, Inc.) has written three musicals for the stage, Le Hot Blu (2007). Numbers, (2005) and Monk. Monk, written by Laurence Holder (2000), played at the Nuryorican Café, and at The Crossroads Theater in New Brunswick, N.J. It is an AUDELCO Award winner (Rome Neal - solo performance of the year).

Mr. Lauber's professional career began at United Artists Corporation as a songwriter/ music director/record producer. His first film commission was a 'piano concerto' for the Peter Sellers film, The World of Henry Orient. Single recordings under his name on UA Records include Lilies of the Field and the Tony Richardson's Tom Jones. While at UA Mr. Lauber produced the recording J.F.K.: The Making of A President. He also composed and scored the music for Director - Alex Matter's Venice Film Festival invitee The Drifter.

Mr. Lauber, also recorded two solo singer / songwriter albums, Contemplation View on Polydor Records, and Ken Lauber He has recorded with Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Tim Hardin, Doc Watson, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Eric Clapton, Richie Havens, Ric Danko and many others. Mr. Lauber's songs and music have been recorded by Hank Jones, Richie Havens, Joe Cocker, Tim Hardin, Gracie Slick, John Sebastian, Milt Jackson, Ray Brown, Paul Smith, Red Callender, Toots Theilman and Stanley Clark.
Other film credits include: the original score to the documentary film In Search of Kundun with Martin Scorsese. For television he composed scores that include: the Emmy-Award winning TV mini-series, Studs Lonigan, Kent State, as well as Alfred Hitchcok Presents and Tales From the Darkside.


Anita Gonzalez



Gonzalez is a director and choreographer whose work has appeared on PBS national television and at Lincoln Center Out-of Doors, Dance Theater Workshop, Tribeca Performing Arts Center, and other national and international venues. She has completed collaborating with composer-writer Ken Lauber an American Syncopated Musical, Le Hot Blu (2007). Her play Ybor City has been read in New York, Florida, and Italy.

Recent directing projects include a new translation of the Brazilian play The Promise Keeper by Alfredo Dias Gomes, Urinetown: The Musical, and Tony Kushner’s The Illusion at SUNY –New Paltz (2006), Seens From the Unexpectedness of Love (2005) by Pam Booker at the West Side Arts Theatre (2005), and Heat by Marsha Estell at the Bloomington Playwright’s Project (2005). Other projects include The Mother Courage Project with Demetria Royals and Robbie Mc Cauley (2001), Migrant ImagiNations at the Joyce Soho Theater in New York City (1999), Tiye Giraud's Sugar Tit (1998), and the musical Hola Ola written in conjunction with Dolores Prida.

Anita was a founding member of the Urban Bush Women. For her individual scholarship and teaching, she has been awarded a residency at Rockefeller’s Bellagio Center (2003) and three Senior Scholar Fulbright grants.

Gonzalez (Ph.D). is an Associate Professor and Assistant Chair in the Department of Theater at the State University of New York – New Paltz and an Associate Member of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers.
